AMIR TAGHI TAKES THE WEBSTER
On Thursday evening, a refreshing departure from the Webster's usual suspects filed in for some holiday retail therapy. Houston's own Amir Taghi showcased light and bright looks from his latest collection as part of a special trunk show.
"The colors of the collection are reminiscent of a Haj Ali Rug in my parent's living room, it's vibrant colors are vividly engrained in my mind from spending so much time there growing up," he explained via press release of the neon pink, green and blue. "I was captivated by the modern elegance of Farah Pahlavi, Empress of Iran, who quickly became the muse of the collection. I studied the silhouettes she wore and how she carried herself in a land that was and is... ruled by men."
A striking, statuesque model near the shop's entrance emitted warrior princess vibes. Towering well over six feet in a sheer, floor-length lilac gown, she was impossible to miss - or not photograph.
The same goes for Amir's host quartet; Lindley Arnoldy, Duyen Huynh, Sima Ladjevardian and Monsour Taghdisi each rocked ensembles plucked straight from the rack.
